Job Offer Accepted, Job Offer Declined

I'm sorry I haven't had time to fill you in yet about the new job that I was offered!I went to the interview and it was pretty great. The hiring manager seems to be a pretty great guy. I liked talking to him a lot. He's got a great sense of humor and he's seems quite supportive and has an open door policy.
The job is better than I had thought, on paper at least. So here are the perks:

  • 25 hours a week minimum to be eligible for benefits plan
  • will reimburse me for TB test ($20)
  • will reimburse me for Criminal Record Check ($30)
  • has refresher Food Safe courses for staff
  • if I want to do First Aid they will ship me out of town all expenses paid for training
  • free meals when working ($ saved)
  • paid uniform cleaning allowance (pay me to keep my uniform clean)
  • union job (fees but I'm ok with that)
  • has multiple departments related to serving and kitchen that I can utilize to make extra $
  • 6 week schedule in advance (great! maybe I can work another part time gig)
  • benefits include holistic healing ( $200 for massage therapy y'all)
  • low turnover rate
  • company is global so I can be transferred if decide to move and theirs one in my new area
  • good wage with raises during the year
I'm pretty sure there were some other things that he mentioned that are slipping my mind right now so I might have to update this but its looking pretty good. The staff all looked to be pretty happy and friendly when I went on a quick tour. I could have started last Friday but I wasn't able to due to family and personal obligations. He will be out of town this week so we settled on March 14th as my training start date.

Congrats to me!! Yay! lol

Now I just need to inform the other job I was offered that I'm no longer interested. Ugh! Well its the same job with none of the perks and they want me to do tasks eventually that I'm not interested in doing. Without researching that job though I wouldn't have realized what a good offer I have now.

So I'm hoping this job will work out while I'm biding my time here paying off debt and saving for Australia. I am both excited and nervous to start! Of course I'll keep you all updated on my progress!
